It’s nearly Halloween, so this is one for the ghost-hunters out there. Did you know that living near a ghoulish-spot could add up to £85k onto your home’s asking price?

According to a recent spooky study from Hammonds Furniture, homes for sale near ‘haunted’ locations are priced roughly 19% higher than the average home in the same region - well, if you’ve got it, haunt it!

In the 'spirit' of Halloween let's take a look at some homes in reputedly eerie locations across the UK...

Church Road, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, TN4

While we can’t say if it’s haunted or not, this boo-tiful Victorian home on Church Road, Southborough, is located just around the corner from the mysterious Hangman’s Hill in Epping Forest. With 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and surrounded by woodland, you’re sure to be the ghost-ess with the most-est!

Price: £2,000,000

The Old Granary, Surrenden Farm, Pluckley, TN27

Or how about this pretty 4-bed property in the village of Pluckley - which was named 'the most haunted village in the UK' by the Guinness Book of Records. According to the records, around 12-14 ghosts have been spotted in the area, including a Highwayman who now appears to locals and visitors as a shadowy figure.

Price: £1,100,000

Barley Green Barn, Barley Green, Barley, Lancashire, BB12

This gorgeous four-bedroom detached barn conversion is located in the highly sought after village of Barley, near Pendle Hill which is famous for it's stunning scenery. The naturally beautiful area has long been associated with ghostly goings-on due to the Pendle witch trials in 1612 - the most famous witch trials in UK history.

Price: £450,000

Idsall House, High Street, Prestbury, Cheltenham, GL52 3AY

According to Haunted Britain, Pluckley is in competition with Prestbury for the title of 'Most Haunted Village in England'. Apparently it's most famous ghoul is a hooded monk known as 'The Black Abbott', who appears around Christmas, Easter, and All Souls Day (yep, we had to look that one up too).

If the thought of a hooded monk popping up every so often doesn't give you the heebie-jeebies, then take a peek at Idsall House - a beautifully presented Grade II Regency villa set in a discreet position in the village.

Price: £2,200,000

Quick joke:
- What room of the house are you least like to find a ghost in?
- The living room! 🦴
